Plagiarism and Screening Policy
The Journal of Petroleum and Mining (JPM) maintains a strict policy against plagiarism and unethical publication practices.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is entirely original and properly cited.
- The total similarity index must not exceed 20%.
- No single source should contribute more than 2% similarity.
- Self-plagiarism, duplicate submissions, or text recycling are strictly prohibited.
- Manuscripts failing to meet these criteria will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected.
In cases of confirmed plagiarism, the journal will follow the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, which may include retraction of the article and notification of the authors’ institutions.
Upholding academic integrity is fundamental to the mission of the Journal of Petroleum and Mining (JPM), ensuring credibility, fairness, and trust in the publication process.
